HOT TRACKS
GREEN DAY - BANG BANG
Although it shares its title with the 2014 pop hit by Jessie J, this new track from the US group is far from that.
It's a call to arms for anyone who feels left on the outside of the tracks, who feels helpless and needs a reason to stand up.
It also gets your heart pumping, so much so it's hard not to find yourself banging your head along to the music. Punk has always stood for fire and rebellion, and Bang Bang is exactly that.
KINGS OF LEON - WASTE A MOMENT
The US rock band's lead single from their upcoming album is a plea for listeners to take a defiant step back and "Take the time to waste a moment/ Never ask to be forgiven".
Mixed with the smooth and organic melody, it's the sort of thing you can imagine listening to while on a high-adrenaline holiday, rushing off into an adventure.
FRENSHIP FT. EMILY WARREN - CAPSIZE
With its chill and laidback vibe, this collaboration between US pop duo Frenship and US singer Emily Warren feels more indie than pop. The tune plays out slowly, but the heavy synthesisers keep it catchy, and the lyrics speak of someone dealing with the pain of a lost love, something many people can relate to. Warren's vocals sound like a siren's song; they call you in deeper, enticing you to listen repeatedly.
