2 prizes = 1 happy winner
With just a day left before the end of Week 1 of The New Paper Bonus Challenge, Mr Lee Ah Choy thought he would not win any prize during this round of the contest.
But a gleeful Mr Lee, 74, walked away last night with two prizes - a MINI folding bike and a jackpot prize of $1,000.
Said the retiree: "I thought I wouldn't win anything. I am going to go exercise and ride the bike tomorrow."
He was the only winner of the jackpot prize last night.
"Luckily, no one is sharing the money with me," he said, grinning.
Mr Lee has taken part in previous TNP Bonus Challenges, but has never won.
Sharing his secret to winning, Mr Lee said: "I buy three copies of the paper every Monday to increase my chances of winning."
The retiree added that he enjoys reading the paper because of its coverage of local and interesting news.
WINNERS
So far, 10 readers have won prizes from last week's TNP Bonus Challenge.
To play, simply buy a copy of TNP with a Bonus Challenge Card every Monday from Nov 17 to Dec 21.
Match the numbers on the card against six daily digits printed in TNP from Tuesday to Sunday.
Complete any vertical row of numbers and claim your prize on that row by answering a simple question on the spot.
Answers to these questions can be found in TNP together with the day's numbers.
Other than the daily $1,000 jackpot prize, which starts on Tuesday and will snowball to the next day if it is unclaimed by 9pm, more iPad Mini 3s and MINI folding bikes are also up for grabs.
