Geylang fire leaves two dead, three injured
Two persons died and three were injured in a fire at Geylang early this morning (April 3).
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire at Geylang Lorong 6 at about 4am.
They sent two fire engines, three Red Rhinos, three supporting vehicles and three ambulances to the location.
When crews arrived five minutes later, black smoke was seen coming from the second storey.
SCDF entered the unit with two water jets and put the fire out within 30 minutes.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men who sustained burn injuries were taken to Singapore General Hospital while another man sprained his right wrist and was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
