A Singapore pupil will soon be reunited with the Mount Kinabalu guide who saved his life.

Mr Mohd Rizuan Kauhinin, 25, was hailed as a hero when photos of him carrying the Tanjong Katong Primary School pupil, known as Wafeeq, on his back after the Sabah earthquake on June 5 was circulated online.

Mr Rizuan received an invitation to meet the boy's parents when he spoke to the boy's father.

“I have just made my passport and will be travelling to Singapore soon,” Mr Rizuan told The Star.

The boy’s father had called Mr Rizuan a few days ago to thank him for rescuing his son and expressed hope that they could meet soon.

According to Mr Rizuan, the father told him that the boy was still under treatment for injuries caused from falling rocks.
