Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin to marry woman based in S'pore
Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin is tying the knot next month, a source close to him has confirmed.
The 33-year-old Brazilian will marry Ms Elaine Andriejanssen, an Indonesian Chinese based in Singapore, reported The Straits Times.
The ceremony will take place in France next month.
The source, a friend of the couple, said the pair threw an engagement party in Bali, last month.
But Mr Saverin’s relationship status on his Facebook says he has been engaged to her since March 27, 2014.
Page Six, an entertainment website, had reported on Tuesday (June 16) that Mr Saverin was going to marry Miss Singapore Universe 2009 Rachel Kum on the French Riviera on June 27.
This is not true, said the source who asked not to be named.
"Ed is definitely not marrying Rachel."
The source refused to reveal more about the fiancee, except that she is living in Singapore with her family.
Mr Saverin, who has been living in Singapore since 2009, renounced his US citizenship in 2012 and is said to be worth US$5.1 billion (S$6.9 billion).
