Celebrate special local locations at the SG Heart Map Festival @ Float
SG Heart Map Festival @ Float will mark the finale of a celebration of experiences and places that S'poreans hold dear
The finale of the year-long SG Heart Map, which celebrates the 50 places in Singapore that define home for us, will be held at the SG Heart Map Festival @ Float.
Organised by the SG50 environment and infrastructure committee, the festival, from Nov 26 to 29, will allow visitors to explore the first-ever crowd-sourced map of cherished places.
There will also be co-created works of art inspired by personal stories about the places, contributed by Singaporeans from all walks of life.
On Nov 29, after the end of the SG50 Jubilee Walk at The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay, participants will get to experience the festival for themselves.
They will be immerse in the stories of Singaporeans through art forms such as literary works, films, audio installations, sketches, illustrations, photographs and animation.
Here are the details:
A. WORDPLAY! A LITERARY PLAYGROUND
Kenny Leck, co-founder of local independent bookstore BooksActually, will present 20 poems and prose on childhood by 10 established local authors as part of a literary playground.
B. 50 FIRST KISSES PRESENTATION
Renowned local director Royston Tan will present his sequel of 50 First Kisses, a film telling the intimate stories of 50 couples as they take a journey through time to revisit special places that have held sentimental moments.
C. HOMESCAPES PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
Gwen Lee, co-founder of the Singapore International Photography Exhibition, will exhibit works by five local photographers - Ang Song Nian, Bob Lee, Darren Soh, George Wong and Robert Zhao - and students on the theme of Home.
D. FUTURE CITY VISION ILLUSTRATION SHOWCASE
Founding Member of illustrator group OICsingapore (Organisation of Illustrators Council) Michael Ng will reveal our younger generation's vision of Singapore through the larger-than-life pop-up illustrations created with about 100 students.
E. SCENES OF OUR HEARTS SHOWCASE
Tia Boon Sim and Zaihan Kariyani, who are leading members of Urban Sketchers Singapore, will put on show giant sketchbooks of Singaporeans' favourite hangout spots, curated from some 400 sketches.
F. SONICMEMORIES AUDIO INSTALLATION
Leading sound artist Zul Mahmod will showcase audio recordings of occasions cherished by Singaporeans.
G. SG HEART MAP EXPERIENCE
Award-winning designer William Chan will debut his film for SG Heart Map - A Beautiful Day. Visitors can catch the film on the dome and enjoy a visual journey of the heartwarming stories contributed by Singaporeans.
H. FOOD STREET
The SG Heart Map Food Street will feature small bites and sweets such as Peranakan desserts, hotdog prata wraps, pancakes and rice dumplings.
