Go luxe at sea for $645,000 a week
Luxury yacht with amenities like hair salon and sauna room available for charter
Ever imagine getting your hair done, playing mahjong with friends, or enjoying a sauna - in the middle of the sea and in full luxury?
And how about having a chef who can cook a range of international cuisines to cater to you and your guests?
These are just some of the customised services that can be brought to you by the 32-member permanent crew of the luxury yacht Saluzi.
But they come at a price - a week's charter of the 69m-long yacht costs a cool US$480,000 (S$645,000), which works out to nearly US$70,000 a day.
Owned by the Hong Kong Parkview Group, Saluzi, which has amenities such as a hair salon, sauna room and even an outdoor cinema, can accommodate up to 32 guests - more than conventional yachts which carry about 12 guests.
The luxury yacht is one of many featured at the 2015 Singapore Yacht Show, which opened at 1pm yesterday at Sentosa Cove.
Now in its fifth year, the four-day annual show is an exclusive event that exhibits world-class yachts and brings together glamorous parties and prestige products and brands in an elite and highly social setting.
With over 1,480m of yachts and boats on display alongside 100 exhibitors and more than 130 top brands, the show is expected to attract 16,000 visitors this year.
At its opening yesterday, exhibitors, who were dressed in white, stood at the booths near their respective yachts ready to offer information to visitors.
Shortly after the bang of the opening gun was heard, there was a mid-afternoon shower which lasted almost an hour.
This might be why the number of people who turned up at the show yesterday was fewer than expected. However, exhibitors are optimistic the numbers will pick up on the weekends.
This year's show also aims to serve up a more diverse programme for its well-heeled visitors.
One of the new events is the Lucanna Luxuria Auction, a live auction of collectibles, modern and contemporary art, gemstones, and watches.
The event is expected to draw a large number of collectors from around the region.
Anastasia, the largest yacht to ever be displayed at the Singapore Yacht Show, is another prominent attraction that will draw boat fanatics.
Parked beside Saluzi, the 75m-long yacht has won a number of prestigious awards, including the World Yacht Trophy for Best of the Best Custom Motor Yacht over 40m.
This probably explains why Anastasia is available for sale at a jaw-dropping price of US$110 million.
But viewing of the yacht is not open to the public, and it is only available for interested buyers who have made a prior appointment.
