Still wondering if the protests in Hong Kong are a big deal?

Drone footage of the protests - dubbed both #OccupyCentral and the #UmbrellaRevolution - from Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily show the massive scale of the protests in Hong Kong's business district.

Protest organisers say the expect the crowd to swell to over 100,000 tonight (Sept 30) and tomorrow, which is the National Day public holiday, marking the 65th anniversary of the founding of Communist Party rule in China.

The leaders of the protest have rejected Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun Ying to end the street demonstrations.

The demonstrations, the worst civil unrest Hong Kong has experienced since its 1997 handover from British rule, were sparked by Beijing’s decision last month to restrict who can stand for the city’s top post.
