A two-year-old boy had half of his right arm bitten off by a white tiger after he reached into the animal's enclosure at a wildlife park in China's Ya'an city.

The child was visiting the park with three adults on Saturday (July 4) when he put his arm through a ventilation gap under the glass enclosure, reported Tencent.

The tiger bit off the lower portion of the boy's exposed limb.

The boy was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery.

A doctor told Sichuan News that the boy lost the entire part of the arm below the elbow.
