5-year-old boy's kind act brings homeless man to tears
No one noticed the homeless man except 5-year-old Josiah Duncan.
The little boy's mind was filled with questions when he first noticed the man outside a Waffle House restaurant in Alabama in the United States.
His mother, Ms Ava Faulk, had to explain what it meant to be homeless to her curious son.(Josiah Duncan and his mother Ava Faulk) PHOTO: AVA FAULK FACEBOOK
When Duncan finally understood the man's plight, he was determined to brighten up his day.
"[The homeless man] came in and sat down and nobody really waited on him. So Josiah jumped up and asked him if he needed a menu because you can’t order without one," Ms Faulk explained how her son served the man in an interview with WSFA 12 News.
Instead of ordering as much as he could, the man only asked for bacon.
But Ms Faulk knew that he needed much more than that.
She told him: "You have as much bacon on your hamburger as you want."
What happened next moved the man and the rest of the diners to tears.
Duncan decided to go one step further and sing a prayer of thanksgiving for the food with the man he had just helped.
"I wanted to say the blessing with him," said Duncan.
According to Ms Faulk, the man "just cried" and "everyone at Waffle House was crying" after witnessing her son's act of kindness.
"You never know who is an angel on earth and when the opportunity comes at you, you never should walk away from it," she said.
