#FAIL: Ad agency uses offensive Malala Yousafzai images to sell mattresses
Ad agency Ogilvy and Mather created an ad for an Indian mattress company showing offensive images of Malala Yousafzai getting shot to sell mattresses.
The ad creative was a cartoon illustration of the Pakistani activist - and who was a Nobel Peace Prize nominee - getting shot in the head, free falling in the air only to land on a Kurl-on mattress and bouncing back to receive an award. Incidentally, "Bounce Back" was ad slogan.
The agency has since issued an apology for the ad and have apologised to the Malala and her family. The mattress company, Kurl-on, has remained quiet on the matter.
The 16-year-old Pakistani teenager was shot in her head by the Taliban in 2012. She is known for her activism in support of education for women in her native Pakistan and abroad.
