Here's a picture of Ryan Gosling looking good
Did you hear? Ryan Gosling's directorial debut showed at Cannes to both major boos and big cheers.
The movie, Lost River, is about a single mum (Mad Men's Christina Hendricks) in debt, her teenage son and the girl next door with whom he's in love (Saoirse Ronan). There's also a crazy guy on the loose (played by Doctor Who's Matt Smith) and a nightclub manager (Eva Mendes) who performs bloody rituals.
It's weird, so people are hating it and loving it, which makes it perfect for Cannes' Un Certain Regard programme, in which the festival highlights "original and different" works.
But who are we kidding - who cares about the movie?
Let's just look at Ryan Gosling.
Christina Hendricks - luckiest girl in the world.
This pose is called "touching my hair awkwardly and still giving the camera intense eyes".
And this one's called "the subtle, handsome look-back".
You're welcome.
