Jaycee Chan says he has been using marijuana for 8 years
Jaycee Chan, son of kung-fu superstar Jackie Chan, has admitted to taking marijuana for the "past eight years", reported China Central Television (CCTV).
Police seized 110g of marijuana from the home of the younger Chan, who subsequently tested positive for marijuana on Monday (Aug 18) which could mean facing the death penalty.
The China-based broadcasting network reported that he told police he "had been taking marijuana alone or with friends at home since 2006" after the 31-year-old initially "tasted the drug in the Netherlands".
He said he has since found it "hard to kick the habit".
Taiwanese actor Kai Ko Chen-Tung, 23, was also arrested for using and possessing the drug at the younger Chan's penthouse in Beijing.
According to CCTV, Ko admitted to the police he "tried marijuana for the first time in 2012, at Jaycee's home".
Jackie Chan was said to have arrived in Beijing after his son's arrest last Thursday (Aug 14), but has yet to visit the detention centre where his son has been remanded.
