Schoolboy, 15, pens powerful letter after Emma Watson's UN speech
Emma Watson made a powerful case for gender equality in her speech at the United Nations recently.
Inspired by her, a certain 15-year-old boy, penned a letter proposing a simple solution to the problem of gender inequality.
In his letter to The Telegraph, Ed Holtom, the student at an all-boys school in England, established that "gender equality is not just about equal pay," The Hollywood Reporter wrote.
He wrote that people should "stop pressuring each other to fit stereotypes" and that we "must not let gender define us".
Holtom also added: "By using words such as 'girly' or 'manly', we inadvertently buy into gender stereotyping."
And this schoolboy's solution to this continuous issue is nothing complex. According to this obviously intelligent kid, just a simple switch in language will do the trick.
He said: "We must all make an active decision to change our language."
