The M Match-up: Troll Kendrick Vs Troll Timberlake
Justin Timberlake or Anna Kendrick? Who makes the better troll?
In the new animated flick Trolls, both Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick play fuzzy-headed little beasties. Question is, which one is the top Troll?
CHARACTER POWERS
Timberlake plays the grumpy Branch, who warns his troll pals not to have a party, lest they attract the attention of a troll-eating race known as the Bergen. Sure enough, his warning is ignored and he ends up going on a rescue mission. Colour: grey.
Peppy Kendrick plays the peppy Princess Poppy, whose party ends up bringing the Bergen to troll town. Owning up to her mistake, she leads the rescue party - just herself and Branch - to save her friends before they become snacks. Colour: pink.
ROUND ONE: TROLL KENDRICK
Pretty in pink is better than gloomy in grey.
SONG POWERS
Timberlake already has a massive worldwide hit off the Trolls soundtrack with Can't Stop The Feeling. He was also the primary producer of the soundtrack, and performs on other songs such as True Colors.
Best known for her role in the a cappella epic Pitch Perfect, Kendrick is no slouch. On the Trolls soundtrack she does a bang-up version of The Sound Of Silence, and leads the super fun medley Move Your Feet / DANCE / It's A Sunshine Day.
ROUND TWO: TROLL TIMBERLAKE
He's the Troll Prince of Pop.
ACTOR POWERS
For all his success as a pop star, Timberlake has struggled as a film actor, mainly because he sucks. He comes off as shallow, and his whiney voice doesn't help. The sprightly fellow is rather miscast as a gruff troll.
She started out on Broadway as a child, burst into movies with Twilight, then hit pay dirt with Pitch Perfect. A truly talented performer capable of tackling both drama and comedy. It's hard to imagine anyone better as a tiny troll princess.
ROUND THREE: TROLL KENDRICK
From Twilight to Pitch Perfect to Trolls, she's cinema's new Queen of Quirk.
THE WINNER: TROLL KENDRICK
Troll Timberlake is a troll try-hard, while Troll Kendrick is the real troll deal.
