Movie Review: Fathers And Daughters (NC16)
I've always thought Russell Crowe would make a rather crazy but loving dad.
And as author Jake Davis in Fathers And Daughters, that's exactly the kind of person he is.
When his wife is killed in a car accident, Jake has to stay at a mental health facility, leaving his young daughter Katie (Kylie Rogers)in the care of her aunt Elizabeth (Diane Kruger).
Years later, Katie (now played by Amanda Seyfried) is all grown up and haunted by her relationship with her dad.
Crowe does a very good job of acting nuts and he's also pitched as a genius.
But A Beautiful Mind this is not. Fathers And Daughters is more pleasant than brilliant, with weepy moments and father-daughter drama thrown in.
