Isabelle Li's hopes for a medal fades
Paddler Isabelle Li's South-east Asia (SEA) Games women's singles campaign is in jeopardy after her Group A loss to Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Nga today (June 3).
The 2011 and 2013 SEA Games women's singles silver medallist lost 11-9, 10-12, 11-7, 12-14, 6-11 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and lies second in the group, with the last round of preliminary matches happening on Thursday (June 4).
Nguyen heads the table and will be the only one from the group to advance to the semi-finals if she beats Myanmar's Khin Kaung San.
Li must beat Laos' Seangdavieng Douangpanya and hope Nguyen falters.
