Movie Review: Cold War 2 (PG13)
Star power galore.
That's this Hong Kong police drama-thriller summed up.
The story picks up right after 2012's Cold War. Cop-turned-terrorist Joe (Eddie Peng) is imprisoned, which leads to the forced retirement of police commissioner MB Lee (Tony Leung Ka Fai), who is also his dad.
Aaron Kwok's deputy police commissioner Sean is promoted, adding to the tension between MB and Sean.
Chow Yun Fat's Oswald is a minor character thrown in to stir the pot.
Forget about the plot and the myriad characters coming in and out.
Without the presence of stalwarts Leung and Chow, this confusing sequel would not have kept me engrossed.
Just savour the performances from the veterans, who show why they are the reigning kings of Hong Kong cinema.
