Real Salt Lake score from an insanely complicated free-kick routine
Barcelona and Arsenal are exponents of scoring goals from team moves, but Real Salt Lake upped the ante when they put together a complicated team goal from a free-kick, no less.
The Major League Soccer club opened their account against Columbus Crew on Sunday in the 36th minute with a peach of a goal from Olmes Garcia.
Real’s Luke Mulholland caught everyone off guard, with a quick pass to Kyle Beckerman from a free-kick.
Beckerman flicked the ball, behind the wall, to an onrushing Joao Plata, who headed the ball across goal for Garcia to tap into goal.
A real beauty of a set-piece routine from what has to be straight from the training ground.
