Bling headphones trumpet Rihanna's new album

It was fitting that Rihanna announced the completion of her eighth studio album, Anti, in spectacular fashion.

The 27-year-old Barbadian pop star shared the news on Twitter and posted a photo of herself wearing opulent Dolce & Gabbana headphones from the fashion label's spring 2016 runway show.

The bedazzled listening device, worth a staggering US$8,895 (S$12,725), has a gold crown headband adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls as well as padded headphones with metallic rings embellished with even more Swarovski crystals.

Anti is Rihanna's first full-length offering since 2012's Unapologetic.

Its release date has not yet been revealed.
