From shared servings to buffet lines, try these break fast ideas
Now that we are in the middle of Ramadan, have you run out of places to break fast?
Here are some suggestions:
1 The nasi ambeng concept (a shared dish with rice and dishes) is now at 21 On Rajah (Days Hotel Singapore at Zhongshan Park, Tel: 6808-6847).
The Mediterr-Asian Nasi Ambeng spread (from $50) also comes with seafood from the ice counter, items from the carving station and a tapas station.
And here's the fun part: You'll also get Maggi goreng cooked a la minute.
2 Popular nasi lemak specialist Crave has introduced dishes for the season, available for a limited time only.
The satay nasi lemak set with homemade peanut sauce ($5.90), cendol Melaka ($2.50) and air limau selaseh ($2.50) will be available till July 15. This is on top of its usual items.
Crave is at ION Orchard, Hougang Mall, Bedok Mall, Punggol Waterway Point, Parkway Parade and Bishan Junction 8. Its latest outlet at City Square Mall opens tomorrow.
3 Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant (Furama RiverFront, Tel: 6739-6463) offers nasi tumpeng ($48 for two) .
There is a turmeric "Rice Mountain", accompanied by dishes such as beef rendang, chicken and vegetables.
There is also dessert on a buffet line to end the meal on a sweet note.
4 Till July 10, Window on the Park (Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, Tel: 6733-8333) offers a Ramadan feast (from $76.50) that offers more than food: There's a prayer room and massage chairs, too.
From seafood to roasts, there should be something to keep your stomach happy.
And it's one-for-one too, so it is ideal for a big iftar (break fast) gathering.
5 Sakura International Buffet has a dozen new items on the buffet line in time for Ramadan.
One newcomer is the salted egg yolk red prawn. There is also black pepper slipper lobster and, for fans of mentaiyaki, you can try the sauce with six different ingredients.
The buffet is from $39.80.
6 Available till July 5, Katong Kitchen (Village Hotel Katong, Tel: 6551-2141) has a spread of goodies such as sup kambing, goreng pisang, cempedak roll, nasi ulam and ayam buah keluak.
