Ex-Disney stars sizzle with hot summer songs
As the weather heats up, so do these former Disney Channel stars with their latest hot summer songs
Summer is the time for pool parties, cocktails and bikinis.
So what better time for US singer-actresses Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Hilary Duff to drop some sultry tunes to accompany your summer shenanigans?
After all, it's a rite of passage for ex-Disney Channel child stars to shed their oh-so-cute image once they strike out on their own.
Think Miley Cyrus and her now-infamous hammer-licking scene in the music video for Wrecking Ball, or Christina Aguilera's bikini mud-wrestling moves in Dirrty.
Yup, there's nothing like a music video with "ooh la la" moments to announce to the world that you're a woman now.
Having some saucy lyrics in your songs don't hurt, either.
M pits these former House Of Mouse alumni against each other to see who nailed the sexiest summer single of 2015.

GOOD FOR YOU SELENA GOMEZ FEAT. A$AP ROCKY
SOUNDS LIKE
Born To Die by Lana Del Rey
Gomez, 22, may still have a baby face, but she's all woman - as she's happy to show in her latest MV.
She channels US singer Del Rey's sexy vibes here, including the latter's sultry low vocals and slow-burning beats.
Draped gracefully over a couch, Gomez puts on her best come-hither look while wearing a loose, plunging neckline mini-dress.
Outfit No. 2 sees her in a wet white T-shirt - sans bra - with sexy tendrils of long hair over it.
There is no Outfit No.3 - just Gomez singing soulfully in the shower.
"(Good For You) represents the confidence of me turning into a young woman... the confidence that I truly have inside of me," the former Wizards of Waverly Place star told American radio station Z100.
The song is also rumoured to be about her pop star ex Justin Bieber, who loved seeing her curvy body in figure-hugging clothes (hence lines like "Gonna wear that dress you like, skin tight").
"I just wanna look good for you," Gomez sings seductively. And you know what? She does.

COOL FOR THE SUMMER DEMI LOVATO
SOUNDS LIKE
I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry
With suggestive lyrics like "Got a taste for the cherry, I just need to take a bite", the 22-year-old leaves no doubt as to what Cool For The Summer, the lead single from her upcoming fifth studio album, is truly about.
Yup, this summer dance anthem is all about being bi-curious, which is why comparisons to US pop star Perry's iconic hit I Kissed A Girl have been inevitable.
Responding to criticism over the copying, Lovato tweeted: "Sounds nothing like it and with all the advances we've made in the LGBT community... I think more than one female artist can kiss a girl and like it."
Hmm, we really don't recall any girl-on-girl action when she was in Camp Rock with the Jonas Brothers in 2008.
Anyway, the lyric video is a giant summer romp at pools and white sandy beaches, with Queen Demi presiding over her bikini-clad subjects.
She cleverly leaves something to the imagination here. In the opening shot, she gives a blink-and-you'll-miss it glimpse of her bare back, as she removes her hot pink robe.
She also rocks a one-piece swimsuit with a plunging neckline, but wears a towel around her waist.

SPARKS HILARY DUFF
SOUNDS LIKE
Boys by Britney Spears
The MV for pop ditty Sparks isn't really about music, but a reality TV-style glimpse into Duff's dating life.
The 27-year-old, who is a single mother of a three-year-old boy after her divorce from hockey pro Mike Comrie earlier this year, chronicles her adventures on dating app Tinder.
"So many people were meeting people, getting married... from Tinder," she explained on US talk show The View.
"I wanted to have an experience I wouldn't otherwise have, and do something people wouldn't think I would do."
Or it could just be her stab at appearing relevant and current, after her last proper album, Dignity, in 2007.
In Sparks, the first single off her comeback record Breathe In. Breathe Out., Duff croons: "Turn the lights down low and kiss me in the dark/ Cause when you're touching me, baby I see sparks."
It's just wishful thinking though: the MV shows her hanging with her real-life blind date, but without going as far as a good night kiss.
Perhaps things would've turned out differently if the former Lizzie McGuire star had worn her clubbing outfit on the date - hot pants showing lots of booty, paired with shiny stilettos.
Fans were pretty miffed that Duff's video was essentially an ad for Tinder, so another "fan-demanded version" was released featuring just Duff and her dance moves.
The dancing is pretty sexy. The blatant commercialism, not so much.
