China warns citizens to beware of fraud while buying electronic goods in Singapore
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted an advisory on its website on Wednesday, warning citizens to be extra vigilant when purchasing electronic goods in Singapore.
The brief statement from its embassy here said the reminder was issued in the wake of numerous cases last year of China tourists being scammed while buying electronic goods like mobile phones in Singapore.
It advised citizens to take special note of the lists of merchants who have complaints against them which are put up around malls, and to avoid making purchases at those stores.
It also warned citizens to beware of commercial fraud so as to prevent any loss of interest.
