Tree crashes into Pasir Ris block
Residents of Pasir Ris Street 21 had a shock yesterday evening when a tree toppled onto Block 243.
Fortunately, nobody was trapped under the fallen tree, a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman told The New Paper.
Mr Rohaizad Mohd Sal, a resident at Block 245, said he was in the toilet when he heard sounds of shattering glass and screams.
Said the 46-year-old manager: "I rushed out of the shower and saw the nine-storey tall tree uprooted.
"Luckily nobody had been walking below the block at that time."
