Memorial service for MH17 victims to be held next month
A memorial service will be held in Kuala Lumpur next month for the victims of the MH17 tragedy.
The date and other details of the event will be confirmed after Malaysia's transport minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai presents a report to the Cabinet on Wednesday.
Noting that other countries will be holding separate memorial services next month, he said that Malaysia Airlines would be "willing to fly the families of victims to the Netherlands for its memorial service on July 17".
The Malaysia Airlines plane was shot down over the Ukraine-Russia border on July 17 last year. All 298 people on board the flight, including 15 crew members, were killed. Almost two-thirds of the victims were citizens of the Netherlands.
Pro-Russian separatists are believed to have shot down the plane, though Russia has denied this.
