Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Soo Tet told District Judge Kessler Soh that while the woman was bathing, the man placed his mobile phone behind the curtains to get three photographs and six videos of her topless.
Last Oct 11, the man was standing near Pasir Ris MRT Station at around 8pm when he spotted an NS-mate's female friend walking past.
He tailed the teenager and used his mobile phone to record an upskirt video of her when they were on an escalator in the station.
About 20 minutes later, he created a fake Instagram account and looked for his victim's profile though his NS-mate's photographs.
The man, who is represented by lawyer Kalidass Murugaiyan, sent the teen the video through an Instagram message and threatened to leak it if she did not submit to his lewd request. She made a police report.
Judge Soh has called for a probation report and the man will be back in court on Nov 2.
For insulting a woman's modesty, he can be jailed up to a year and fined. And for committing criminal intimidation, he can jailed up to two years and fined.
