S'pore men's 50m pistol team outclass field
Singapore's men's team of Gai Bin, Lim Swee Hon, and Poh Lip Meng won the gold medal in the men's 50m pistol team event on Thursday (June 11) morning.
The shooters scored a total of 1,632, beating Vietnam (1,619) and Myanmar (1,615) at the National Shooting Centre.
Meanwhile, Thailand continued their dominance in the women's 25m pistol event after Kanyakorn Hirunphoem, Naphaswan Yangpaiboon and Tanyaporn Prucksaporn scored 1,737 to take home the gold.
Singapore's Teo Shun Xie, Nicole Tan and Teh Xiu Hong were pipped to the title by a single point, while Vietnam's Le Thi Hoang Ngoc, Pham Thi Ha and Treu Thi Hoa Hong won the bronze with 1,728 points.
In the men's 50m pistol event, Hoang Xuan Vinh from Vietnam clinched the gold medal, while Thailand's Auapinyakul Natphanlert and Malaysia's Jonathan Wong won the silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the women's 25m pistol event, Malaysia's Alia Sazana Azahari won the gold medal, with Singapore shooter Teh Xiu Hong taking the silver medal and Vietnam's Le Thi Hoang Ngoc coming in third.
