Two hurt after van hits lamp post and tree
A van crashed into a lamp post before hitting a tree as it was exiting the Seletar Expressway towards Upper Thomson Road yesterday.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call at around noon and sent two fire bikes, two ambulances and three support vehicles to the scene.
Its spokesman said a man in his 50s was trapped in the front passenger seat of the van.
"We had to use hydraulic rescue tools to get him out due to the extensive damage done to the front," the spokesman said.
The driver was also injured and both men were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
The van belongs to ABT Medical Products, and its employees were seen removing products from the van.
A police spokesman said the cause of the accident is still unknown and investigations are ongoing.
