Man arrested after dramatic Punggol stand-off

A man in his 40s was arrested on Friday (Feb 12) after a dramatic stand-off in a Punggol flat.
The incident happened at about 2pm at Block 211B Punggol Drive.
It saw Singapore Civil Defence Force rescuers, officers from the Special Operations Command and police negotiators at the scene.
The New Paper understands the man was armed with a knife in the eighth-storey unit.
Police officers managed to enter the flat just after 5pm.
He was assessed by paramedics before being taken away by the police.
