The single from When The Sun Goes Down, US singer Gomez's third and final album with her band The Scene, hit No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. It sold more than two million copies in the US, earning a double-platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
That was then…
Before the official release of its music video, a leaked photo from the set of two pink-coloured horses drew controversy.
Although the animals were dyed using a non-toxic water-soluble vegetable powder, when US singer and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) supporter Pink saw the picture, she criticised the MV for being "stupid".
Gomez later said she was uncomfortable with the concept of having horses in it, and eventually they didn't appear in the final product.
This is now...
The 23-year-old embarked on her 80-date Revival Tour last month, which will see her performing across North America before making her way to Asia and Australia.
Gomez will stage her first concert in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on July 27 at 8pm.
Cornetto Singapore is one of the sponsors and tickets from $98 to $168 are available from Sports Hub Tix (www.sportshubtix.sg or 3158 7888)
For Singapore fans who want to get a chance to meet her, there will be seven golden lids found on Cornetto ice cream cones dispensed at random only from the Cornetto Dance Revival Machine at Orchard Cineleisure Level 1 till July 9.
Lucky winners of the golden lids will get a pair of Cat 1 tickets and a meet-and-greet pass.
However, these past few days on tour have been solemn as Gomez mourns the death of her friend, US singer Christina Grimmie, who was fatally shot on June 10 by a deranged fan after the latter's gig in Orlando, Florida.
Gomez could not hold back her tears as she paid tribute to Grimmie during her Miami stop the next day.
She tried to sing her track Nobody, but became too overwhelmed to continue.
