Arsene smiles! Arsenal players, mascot take a tumble in Dizzy Goals challenge
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is rarely seen smiling.
But the Frenchman showed that he has a funny bone too during the Gunners’ recent Dizzy Goals challenge, as part of the ongoing Global Goals awareness campaign to end global poverty.
Players rotate 13 times around a ball and, while their heads are in a spin, they proceed to kick a ball into an empty net.
At a particularly wet and rained on training ground, Theo Walcott and Mikel Arteta both tried and just managed to succeed.
Not to be outdone, the Gunners’ mascot, the Gunnersaurus, also stepped up.
But Gunnersaurus, in full dinosaur gear, lost balance and fell on his buttocks after completing 10 rounds, much to Wenger’s amusement.
The 65-year-old sportingly completed the remaining rounds for Gunnersaurus, who proceeded to attempt the spot-kick, but fell after failing to make contact with the ball, prompting more laughter.
