Faribault due for fourth win over 1,000m
Race 1 (1,000m)
12 Shenron gets his chance to try and make all the running. He steps away favourably from Gate 1 with the 10lb (4.54kg) claimer Angus Chung aboard. With no weight on his back, he could prove hard to catch.
1 Diamond Soars mixes his form but is also breaking from an inside draw. His consistency holds him in good stead. 8 Tronic Mighty will need to offset the wide gate, but he gets Zac Purton, which is a big plus.
6 Shanghai Power missed narrowly three runs ago. He is still in the right vein of form.
Race 2 (2,200m)
6 Baron Zee did well two runs back at Happy Valley. He has done enough to suggest that he is capable of collecting a first win over this trip.
1 Wonder Years should relish the dip in grade. He is a course-and-distance winner who can conserve energy throughout from the draw. 5 Sky Gem is always a threat over this course and distance. Chances are they will pull a mid-race move to get him home. Big watch. 4 Loyal Ambition is racing well and will be thereabouts.
Race 3 (1,000m)
2 Faribault was beaten by the gate last time. The three-time course-and-distance winner steps away from an ideal draw under the in-form Hugh Bowman. He can bounce back on the scoresheet as he much prefers Happy Valley.
11 G One Excellent finally broke through for his first success last start. He slots in light but has to overcome a return to Class 4.
7 Nicetobemet definitely has more ability than what his record shows. The strong booking of Purton ensures his chance.
5 Atomic Energy is on the steady improve. He is doing plenty right.
Race 4 (1,650m)
2 Ready Player One makes the dip to Class 4. He has been competitive in a higher grade. Off his latest trial, he looks ready to win. Gate 2 and the booking of Vincent Ho are the other pluses.
7 Sunny Delight has consistency and the booking of Bowman. He is in the right vein of form to be winning.
1 Samarkand steps down in grade. Expect him to land one soon as he has shown he is more than capable of doing so. He can lead.
6 Kung Fu Tea has claims. Keep safe.
Race 5 (1,200m)
1 Super Vince was unlucky last start. He had plenty more to give and gets his chance to show it. The drop in grade is clearly ideal and this contests looks well within his grasp.
4 Sight Hero has been rather unlucky across his career. This is the right race for him and his pairing with Purton is a strong push.
2 Star Ascension is closing in on a first win. Bowman’s booking signals intent.
3 Victory Scholars gets a handy 10lb claim with Chung up. Gate 1 could afford him a dream run.
Race 6 (1,650m)
11 Gallant Hero roared into fifth place last time at Sha Tin. He can take another step forward with Matthew Poon up, especially with a feather weight again.
5 Proud Dragon’s first win looks just around the corner. Karis Teetan’s riding style should suit this consistent fast-closer.
7 Eighteen Palms did well to finish third on debut. He looks to have his fair share of ability.
1 World Famous is performing better than his record suggests. Do not discount.
Race 7 (1,200m)
7 A Americ Te Specso is nearing a first win. Bowman gets aboard the in-form horse and the inside draw suggests he will be hard to beat. 2 Righteous Arion is chasing back-to-back wins. He had plenty up his sleeve when scoring last start and gets another opportunity in Class 4.
1 Rattan Kingdom is consistent and also has the chance to salute again in this grade.
4 Brilliant Life’s best and worst are few and far between. But, with a few favours, he looks capable.
Race 8 (1,200m)
7 Solid Impact is unlucky not to already be a winner. He has found his mark and his pairing with Purton from Gate 3 gives him one of his best opportunities to get on the board.
1 California Cible lost his last win on protest for shifting out. He has shown he is in form and it would not surprise to see him atone for that effort.
8 Science Patch is reliable. This could be his if he gets the run of the race.
11 Savvy Chic, a strong winner three starts back, has a bit of class. He would not surprise.
Race 9 (1,650m)
9 Gift Of Lifeline can save ground from the draw. He has found his mark and this contest appears suitable for him to collect a third course-and-distance victory.
10 Master Tornado has ability. He has done everything right and the inside draw should see him find the front with ease.
8 Jumbo Legend is holding his form well since stringing a pair of wins earlier this season.
6 Happy Daily just needs to offset the draw. Do not discount.
