Robinson Road murder victim died in fire after having head bashed
The woman who died in the blaze at an office at Afro-Asia Building at Robinson Road on Aug 10, 2011, was allegedly hit on her head several times by her killer before he allegedly set fire to the premises.
Madam Low Foong Meng was allegedly attacked by Govindasamy Nallaiah, 70, until she collapsed between 9.50 and 9.55am in the office of a law firm belonging to her husband, Mr Rengarajoo Rengasamy Balasamy.
On Tuesday (Oct 20), the first day of Govindasamy's murder trial, the court heard that after Madam Low was motionless from the beatings,
Govindasamy allegedly used a lighter to set fire to some files on a table.
Her final cause of death was a combination of smoke inhalation and extensive severe burns.
