Sun Ho takes the stand in CHC trial
City Harvest Church (CHC) singer-pastor Ho Yeow Sun took the stand earlier today in the long-running trial involving six church leaders.
She was first questioned by former CHC fund manager Chew Eng Han, who quit the church in 2013, on the sales figures of her five Mandarin albums.
Ms Ho, whose stage name is Sun Ho, said she remembered seeing newspaper reports that her Mandarin albums had sold 4 million copies.
But Chew said it was impossible and said if that was the case, her artiste management company, Xtron, would have made $68 million and would not be scrambling for funds to finance her English album, which was never produced in the end.
Chew, CHC founder Kong Hee and four others are accused of misusing millions of church money.
Kong's lawyer, Senior Counsel Edwin Tong, is expected to continue cross-examining Ms Ho when the trial resumes later today.
