1 in 2 men spends more than $100 a month on online purchases
While women shop online more often, it's the men who spend more, according to a recent survey on online shopping by Singapore Polytechnic students.
The survey of 816 people aged between 15 and 35 was conducted in June last year.
It found that one in two men spends more than $100 a month on online purchases compared with two in five women.
One of the big draws of shopping online? Privacy.
Close to 60 per cent said they do so because it allows them to keep purchases a secret from family members and friends.
And around 58 per cent said they shop online so that they can make purchases anonymously.
So, what compels people to buy things? Is it the free gifts or the endorsement by celebrities? See the infographic below to find out more.
