Man made 90 police reports in 5 years
The man accused of hurting three madrasah girls last Friday had made 90 police reports in just five years, said the prosecution yesterday.
This was because he thought he was being targeted by others.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Goh Yi Ling told the court yesterday that security officer Koh Weng Onn, 48, who allegedly attacked the girls, had made police reports over matters nobody else would have thought worthy of reporting.
She said he once made a report after seeing a woman sitting in a way which he thought was inappropriate.
He had also made a police report against a sales promoter immediately after buying a product from her.
DPP Goh said: "He made police reports about his quarrels with his colleagues on their work deployment and about strangers whom he believed bore him ill-will."
Koh is now remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for an observation to assess his mental state and his ability to make his defence in court.
He will be back in court on April 18.
Yesterday, he was charged with two counts of causing hurt by performing a rash act and one count of voluntarily causing hurt.
At around 7.20am on Friday, he allegedly kicked a 16-year-old girl's right thigh on Paya Lebar Road.
A minute later, he allegedly swung a plastic bag containing a filled 1.5-litre water bottle and hit the face of a 14-year-old girl as she was walking on a pavement in the same area.
Koh is also accused of swinging the same items at another 14-year-old girl and hit her face as she was travelling up an escalator near Exit D of Paya Lebar MRT station at 7.25am.
