Man killed stepdad by giving him a wedgie
A former US marine who gave his stepfather a deadly wedgie pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter on Monday (May 11).
Brad Davis, 34, gave his 58-year-old stepfather, Denver St. Clair, what police are calling an "atomic wedgie" after a fight broke out between the two in December 2013.
The fight between the two men, who were drinking together, started when Davis claimed that his stepfather had spoken ill about his mother (St. Clair's wife).
During the brawl, Davis pulled St. Clair's underwear over his head and suffocated him with its waistband.
Oklahoma Medical Examiner Amy Elliott ascertained that the cause of death was blunt force trauma and asphyxiation.
Claimed stepdad bullied him all his life
But Davis' lawyer, Bob Wyatt, told local media that his client did not have the intention of killing his stepfather.
According to Yahoo! News, Wyatt told The Oklahoma Newspaper: "He was just tired of taking it. He had been bullied all his life by this guy."
Davis faces between four to 35 years in prison with a mitigation hearing scheduled for later today.
He will receive his sentence in July.
