Chris Martin hints marriage breakdown inspired new album
Singer Chris Martin seems to have taken a leaf out of Taylor Swift's book.
The Coldplay frontman revealed that his break-up with actress Gwyneth Paltrow may have formed the inspiration for the band's latest album, reported Mail Online.
He was performing at The Star Event Centre in Sydney on Wednesday to promote the album, Ghost Stories, which was released last month.
"We haven't really told anyone about this album we made, called Ghost Stories," he told the crowd.
"So just between you and me, I'll tell you a lot of (the album) is about when you go through something a little difficult, and you understand that by staying with it you reach a place of love and happiness and come through better the other side."
He gave similar insights in his first post-split interview with BBC Radio 1 in April.
Not scared of rejection
"I don't want to go through life being scared of it, being scared of love, being scared of rejection, being scared of failure."
The couple began their "conscious uncoupling" in March.
They still live together and are parents to two children - daughter Apple, 10 and son Moses, eight.
