Last station on North-South line set to open
The Marina South Pier MRT station will open this Sunday.
It will be the southern-most stop on the North-South MRT line and will serve the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore as well as future developments in the area.
On weekday morning peak hours, trains to the station will run at eight to 12-minute intervals.
This works out to one in every four southbound trains. The other three will turn around at Marina Bay station so that the more crowded stretches of the line can have a higher frequency.
At all other times, trains to the new station will run at 15-minute intervals.
The Land Transport Authority said it will work with SMRT to improve train frequencies at times of higher demand, such as when cruise ships berth.
