Maid trapped for 90 mins after Ang Mo Kio lift goes berserk
First, the lift doors refused to open.
Then, it went up from the ground floor to the third on its own. Before Ms Evi Lisnawati, 36, could figure out what was going on, the lift suddenly shot up several floors.
Ms Evi, a foreign domestic worker, was flung up together with the lift.
Only then did she realise the lift had shot up all the way to the 20th storey – the highest in Block 317, Ang Mo Kio Street 31.
The 36-year-old was only rescued 1 1/2 hours later.
Still traumatised by the incident that happened on Monday evening (March 7), Ms Evi said she has been taking the stairs since.
