Fencers on course for all-Singapore final in men's individual epee
Fencers Samson Lee and Lim Wei Wen set up the prospect of a dream all-Singapore final in the men's individual epee, after they won their respective quarter-final matches.
Lee saw off Vietnamese Nguyen Phuoc Den 15-14, securing the final point after both fencers reached 14-14.
Lim, meanwhile, rallied from a poor start to defeat Thailand's Naphat Klueanphet 15-13.
The Thai was the second-top fencer from the morning's round-robin matches, while Lim was ranked seventh.
He will now face Thai Panthawit Chamchaern in the semi-final.
Lee, ranked fifth heading into the knock-out rounds, faces 2014 Asian Games bronze medallist Nguyen Tien Nhat of Vietnam.
The semi-final matches will take place about 5pm.
