7 places to go on Father's Day
It's Father's Day on Sunday. Do you have anything planned?
Why not try something a little more adventurous than just a meal together.
We have seven great suggestions.
1. The League Against Evil: A DC Super Heroes Exhibition
Where: Singapore Philatelic Museum
When: 9.30am - 7pm
Cost: $6 for adults; $4 for children; Free for Singapore citizens and permanent residents
Swing by the DC Comics Super Heroes exhibition and check out stamps, collectibles and special issues of your favourite superhero with your dad.
Listen to him reminisce about the golden age of comic books.
Just remember to tell him at the end that he's your Superman.
2. Human Body Experience
Where: Hall B, Science Centre
When: 10am - 6pm
Cost: $20 for adults; $15 for children
This event is targeted at kids, but we think it's never too late to learn how to take care of yourself.
Subtly hint to daddy dearest that you're concerned about his health by taking him here. (Yes, we love you, but can you please stay away from pork belly?)
Learn important medical and educational information as you explore the circulatory, digestive, immune, nervous and respiratory system.
3. Trick Eye Museum
Where: Resorts World Sentosa
When: 10am - 9pm
Cost: $25 for adults; $20 for children and seniors
If dad's not into comics and you find the Human Body Experience a little too kiddish, try this.
This museum looks like great fun for the whole family. Better still, the photos taken will make great mementos of the day.
It uses optical illusions to bring 2-D paintings to life.
4. Real Escape Game Vol.6: Escape From the Moon Base
Where: National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road
When: 11am; 2pm; 4.30pm; 7.30pm
Cost: $27 per person (Tickets available on Sistic)
Perhaps dad prefers brain challenges? Sign the whole family up for this.
Participants have an hour to solve a series of puzzles - mathematical, logical, lateral, literal and hands-on - to get out of a locked room.
Let dad show that he's still the brains of the operation.
5. Garden Series - Mid Summer- Father's Day Weekend
Where: Gardens by the Bay
When: 4pm - 5pm; 5.30pm - 6.30pm
Cost: $12 for adults, $8 for children and seniors (for entry into Cooled Conservatories)
If dad would rather relax and listen to music, that's an option too.
There will be a special performance this weekend at Gardens by the Bay for fathers.
Kick back, relax and listen as the musicians play familiar tunes, from oldies to pop music, to celebrate the special day.
6. Le Noir
Where: Marina Bay Sands
When: 1pm; 5.30pm
Cost: Tickets start at $70 (Tickets available on Sistic)
Treat him to an evening at the theatre.
Watch world-class acrobats, musicians and comedians light up the stage with cirque-style entertainment.
The death-defying stunts will keep you at the edge of your seat.
7. Beerfest Asia 2014
Where: Marina Promenade
When: Noon - 10pm
Cost: $20 for advance tickets, $30 for standard tickets (Tickets available on Sistic)
In the end, it may be best to just hug it out over a couple of beers.
The event will feature close to 400 types of beer from all over the world, live stage performances, a comedy club, beer auctions and tasting workshops.
Kick back with the old man and down a few.
Cheers and have a Happy Father's Day.
