Singapore canoeists bag brace of golds
Singapore's men canoeists won two out of the five gold medals on offer at the Marina Channel on the first day of the canoeing competition.
Lucas Teo's time of 3:43.036 in the men's K1 1000m event won Singapore's first South-east Asia (SEA) Games men's canoeing gold medal.
Bill Lee and Brandon Ooi later edged their Thai counterparts in the men's K2 1000m to deliver the Republic's second canoeing gold medal for the day.

Team Singapore's other canoeist Chong Koi Kiat finished fifth in the men's C1 1000m finals, while the quartet comprising Benjamin Low, Jonathan Chong, Luke Yap and Tay Zi Qiang placed fourth in the men's K4 1000m event.
Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar won the K4, C1 and C2 events respectively.
The canoeing competition will conclude at the Marina Channel on June 9.
