6 Bangladeshi workers charged with murder
Six Bangladeshis were charged with killing a fellow countryman between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Saturday.
Munshi Abdur Rahim, 32, died after they allegedly assaulted him at Tuas View Dormitory at Tuas South Avenue 1.
Goni Osman, 23, Miah Mohammad Rasal, 28, Sohel Rana Abdul Kadir, 30, Ahmed Kayes, 31, Ahamed Fahad, 32, and Ripon Hasan Shahidullah Bhuiyan, 34, were charged with murder yesterday.
According to court documents, they allegedly assaulted Mr Munshi with several other unknown people.
They appeared calm in the dock when their charges were read out in court.
The men are now remanded at Central Police Division and they may be taken out to help the authorities with their investigations.
They will be back in court next Tuesday. If convicted of murder, each man faces the death penalty.
